Geboren und aufgewachsen in der Prignitz, bin ich wie so viele andere nach dem Abi zum Studieren weggegangen. Ich habe in Hamburg Soziologie studiert. Nebenbei arbeitete ich als Werkstudentin bei Airbus und bekam darüber zum Ende des Bachelors ein 6-monatiges Praktikum in Toulouse. In Frankreich fand ich es so toll, dass ich gleich noch für das Masterstudium dortgeblieben bin. Zurück in Deutschland führte mich mein Weg nach Berlin, wo ich für ein großes Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Beratungsunternehmen tätig war.
Mit dem zweiten Kind wurde es uns dann aber doch zu eng in Berlin, die Wohnung war zu klein und der Wohnungsmarkt sehr schwierig. Außerdem sehnten wir uns nach Natur und fanden es jedes Mal nach einem Urlaub im Grünen anstrengend, wieder in Berlin anzukommen. Aber auch der Gedanke an die Unterstützung mit den Kindern durch die Großeltern hat zu der Entscheidung geführt, nach gut zehn Jahren in die Prignitz zurückzukehren.
Inzwischen haben wir uns richtig gut eingelebt und es geht uns sehr, sehr gut hier. Vieles ist einfacher durch kürzere Wege, ein größeres Netzwerk, Familie vor Ort. Die Kinder gehen in eine tolle (Montessori-)Kita, ich arbeite in einem tollen Job. Auch unseren Leidenschaften können wir hier viel besser nachgehen: Camping, Fahrradfahren, in der Natur sein. Und wir haben einen Schrebergarten und sind im Kleingartenverein – in Berlin hätten das mehrere Jahre Wartezeit bedeutet, hier dagegen gibt es (noch) viel Leerstand. Ich engagiere mich außerdem u.a. bei den elblandwerker*n, einer Kooperative für Arbeit, Leben und Wandel in der Prignitz. Den Umzug hierher haben wir nie bereut und sind hier so viel glücklicher, das Leben passt besser zu uns. Und wenn wir die Großstadt und unsere Berliner Freunde vermissen, sind wir in nur eineinhalb Stunden da.

Lebt in einer Wohngemeinschaft in Kemnitz (Pritzwalk)

Mit Anfang 20 bin ich aus meinem kleinen ostfriesischen Dorf zunächst nach Berlin gezogen, um die Vorzüge des Großstadtlebens zu genießen. Von dort aus pendelnd habe ich in Eberswalde Ökolandbau und Vermarktung studiert. Nach 6 Jahren zog es mich aber wieder ins Ländliche, zuerst in ein Dorf bei Eberswalde, um dann in Brodowin meine Weiterbildung zur Erlebnispädagogin zu absolvieren. Aber auch hier hatte ich bald Sehnsucht nach meinem ursprünglichen Habitat. Über eine Freundin lernte ich die Prignitz kennen. Die flache Weite der Wiesen und Felder hier erinnern mich sehr stark an meine Heimat. So lebe ich nun mit zwei Freundinnen als Wohngemeinschaft in einem alten Bauernhaus in Kemnitz und fühle mich angekommen in der Region.

Meine Pläne als Erlebnispädagogin konnte ich hier mit sehr positiver Unterstützung und wertvollem Feedback seitens regionaler Institutionen realisieren und habe wunderschöne Veranstaltungs- und Seminarorte entdeckt.

Die Prignitz gefällt mir einerseits wegen ihrer landschaftlichen Vielfalt, der Weite der Natur, den typischen Kiefernwälder, der Heideflächen und idyllischen Seenlandschaften. Andererseits finde ich es sehr reizvoll, das Potenzial dieser Region zu entdecken, in der so viel Platz für Neues und Innovatives steckt. Diesen Prozess der Wiederbelebung und Aufwertung mitzuerleben sowie zu gestalten ist für mich total spannend und inspirierend.

Lebt mit Frau und zwei Kindern in Neuruppin

Ich bin wieder zu Hause. Das bedeutet großes Glück für mich. Ende der 1990er Jahre, nach meinem Abitur, bin ich allerdings erst mal der großen Abwanderungswelle gefolgt. Hier gab es kaum Lehrstellen, kaum Perspektiven. So war ich zunächst in Niedersachsen bei der Bundeswehr. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und Nordrhein-Westfalen habe ich dann Sozialwissenschaften studiert, mit Auslandssemestern in Südfrankreich und Österreich. Auf das Diplom folgten erste Berufserfahrungen in Berlin. Ich bin also etwas herumgekommen, habe aber meine Heimatregion nie aus dem Blick verloren.
Schließlich gab es ein Angebot bei der Kreisverwaltung Neuruppin. Meine Mutter meinte: „So eine Stelle findest du nicht so schnell wieder“, und ich hab auf sie gehört. Zwölf Jahre lang habe ich auf unterschiedlichen Positionen für den Landkreis gearbeitet, berufsbegleitend noch einen Masterabschluss gemacht. Seit 2018 widme ich mich als Amtsdirektor wieder neuen Herausforderungen. Bereut habe ich die Rückkehr nie, zumal ich hier auch privat mein Glück gefunden habe und mit meiner Frau und unseren Kindern das Familienleben sehr genieße. Es ist unglaublich schön, dass meine Kinder hier aufwachsen können, wo ich selbst Kind war.
Und ich sehe ja, dass es auch andere (wieder) herzieht: Ärzt:innen, die die Praxen ihrer Eltern übernehmen, junge Menschen, die hier den Schritt in die Selbstständigkeit machen oder andere attraktive Karrierechancen wahrnehmen. Die Ausbildungs- und Arbeitsperspektiven in der Region sind heute sehr gut. Und auch Rentner:innen, die nach der Wende in den Westen zum Arbeiten gezogen sind, kehren zum Lebensabend zu ihren Wurzeln zurück. Ich kann nur dazu raten, für eine Weile wegzugehen, den eigenen Horizont zu erweitern – um sich dann mit seinen Erfahrungen, seinem Wissen und Können hier einzubringen. Kommt also (wieder), wir brauchen euch hier!

Ursprünglich komme ich aus der polnischen Großstadt Białystok. Nach meinem Studium in Warschau bin ich Ende 2013 nach Berlin gezogen, um dort in einem Verlag für Startups zu arbeiten und mich intensiv mit Themen wie Digitalisierung, Onlinemarketing und Projektmanagement auseinanderzusetzen. 2019 hat mich dann das Projekt Summer of Pioneers in die Prignitz gelockt, in dessen Rahmen 20 ausgewählte Digitalarbeiter:innen aus verschiedenen Großstädten das Leben in Wittenberge ein halbes Jahr lang ausprobieren konnten. In dieser Zeit habe ich die Region kennen und schätzen gelernt und in mir eine große Begeisterung für das ländliche Leben entdeckt. Ich liebe die kleinstädtische Offenheit, das langsame Tempo und die Nähe zur Natur. Momentan baue ich meine Selbstständigkeit als Beraterin im Onlinemarketing auf. Hier in der Prignitz habe ich viele inspirierende Unternehmer:innen und Kreative kennengelernt, die mich in meiner Überzeugung bestärkt haben, in der Region zu bleiben und zu deren positiver Entwicklung beizutragen.

Lebt mit Frau und Sohn in Neuruppin

Nach meinem Abitur in Neuruppin habe ich eine Ausbildung zum Bankkaufmann bei der Commerzbank Berlin gemacht und im Anschluss eine Reserveoffiziersausbildung bei der Bundeswehr. Dann entschied ich mich, in Potsdam BWL und Russisch zu studieren. Parallel dazu habe ich als freier Mitarbeiter beim ARD Play Out Center Potsdam gearbeitet. Seit 2004 war ich für SWISS KRONO im Werk in Russland in verschiedenen Positionen tätig, zuletzt als Direktor für den Exportverkauf. Das war eine sehr anspruchsvolle, spannende Aufgabe, die mit sehr viel Reisen verbunden ist.
Dennoch habe ich mich 2019 entschieden, wieder in Neuruppin leben zu wollen. Hier sind meine Familie und meine Eltern. Das ständige Pendeln „zwischen den Welten“ und das Schlafen in Hotelbetten wollte ich reduzieren und auch ernsthaft an meiner „Work-Life-Balance“ arbeiten.
Ich habe mit meinem Arbeitgeber über meine Lebensplanung gesprochen und sehr viel Vertrauen und Verständnis erfahren. Die SWISS KRONO Group hat mir angeboten, vom Standort in Heiligengrabe aus für den gesamten Konzern bisherige Vertriebsstrukturen insbesondere für Osteuropa zu optimieren. Besser hätte ich es nicht treffen können: Ich bin wieder zuhause, habe viel Erfahrung im Gepäck und entwickle eigenverantwortlich für alle Werke der SWISS KRONO Group Verkaufswege. So etwas wird gern als Win-Win-Situation bezeichnet.

So verpflichtete ich mich für acht Jahre bei der Bundeswehr, wo ich eine weitere Ausbildung zum Fachinformatiker absolvierte; meine Frau arbeitete in dieser Zeit als Groß- und Außenhandelskauffrau in Hamburg.
Die Wochenenden verbrachten wir oft zu Hause, in der Prignitz; hier leben nach wie vor unsere Eltern, Großeltern und viele Freunde. Und so planten wir 2011, nach der Geburt unserer ersten Tochter, heimzukehren. Allerdings haperte es wieder an passenden Arbeitsangeboten. Es ging also zurück nach Hamburg, wo meine Frau nach der Elternzeit weiterhin einen Arbeitsplatz hatte und mir als Fachinformatiker viele Türen offenstanden.
Ende 2014, als unsere zweite Tochter gerade zur Welt gekommen war, wurden wir bei einem Besuch in der Prignitz auf eine Rückkehrer-Aktion aufmerksam: „Mach Mutti glücklich. Komm zurück.“ Das hat uns den letzten Schubs gegeben, und seit 2015 leben wir wieder hier. Die ersten Jahre sind wir noch nach Hamburg zu Arbeit gependelt oder haben vom Homeoffice aus gearbeitet. Unser Arbeitgeber wurde aber durch uns auf die Region aufmerksam und hat schließlich in Pritzwalk, auch als Entgegenkommen an uns, einen weiteren Firmenstandort gegründet – die perfekte Lösung. Nun sind wir vollkommen wieder in der Prignitz angekommen. In unserer Freizeit genießen wir die Zeit mit der Familie, die weite Natur, sind aktiv im Sportverein. Und mit der nahen Mecklenburger Seenplatte und unseren Stauseen in der Umgebung haben wir immer ein bisschen Urlaub direkt vor der Tür.

Mir ging es, wie so vielen junge Menschen: Nach dem Abitur und einer kaufmännischen Ausbildung in Wittenberge, wo ich aufgewachsen bin, wollte ich ein bisschen „die Welt entdecken“. Ich habe ab 2006 an der Universität Rostock meinen Bachelor und Master gemacht. Danach ging ich nach Hamburg und arbeitete mehrere Jahre mit verschiedenen Schwerpunkten im Personalbereich. In die Prignitz zog es mich aber immer wieder zurück. Einen Großteil meiner Freizeit, gerade in den Sommern, habe ich hier verbracht und so auch meinen Lebensgefährten kennengelernt. Nach zehn Jahren bin also wieder zurück nach Wittenberge gezogen. Ein Jahr lang pendelte ich täglich noch nach Hamburg zur Arbeit.
Heute bin ich in meiner Heimat in einer Führungsposition für ein international agierendes Unternehmen tätig. Ich verfüge hier über viel Spielraum, auch für inhaltliche Themen und habe beste Chancen, mich weiterzuentwickeln. In Hamburg, Berlin oder München hätte ich vermutlich nicht so schnell eine solche Chance bekommen. Das Leben in der Prignitz begreife ich als Luxus, mit meiner Familie in der Nähe, mit all der Natur, Ruhe und Freiheit, mit viel Platz auch für meine Hunde. Und der Traum vom eigenen Haus mit Garten ist hier bezahlbar. Ich kann für mich sagen, dass ich alles richtig gemacht habe.
